How to migrate a GPS platform in a controlled way

A migration must protect service continuity and business-critical data. The process varies depending on devices, protocols, contracts and connected systems.

  1. Technical and contractual inventory

Identify vehicles, devices, SIMs, accessories, protocols, minimum-term commitments, users and integrations.

  2. Equipment classification

Determine which trackers can be reconfigured, which need a firmware update and which are better replaced.

  3. Data and history plan

Define exports, evidence, reports and retention periods before shutting down the previous platform.

  4. Controlled pilot

Migrate a representative group of vehicles and validate position, events, CANBUS data and alerts.

  5. Phased rollout

Carry out the transition by site, vehicle type or operational group, with named owners and defined time windows.

  6. Training and handover

Set up profiles, train users, verify integrations and document the new environment.

Tip: do not cancel your previous service until you have confirmed that every business-critical vehicle is transmitting correctly and that the associated processes work on the new platform.

We assess the compatibility of your installed equipment

We can review models, IMEIs, protocols, SIMs and integrations to define what can be reused and what needs to be replaced.
