Is an OBD device better than a hard-wired one?
It depends on how it will be used. OBD makes deployment easier, while a professional installation can offer greater discretion, more connections and better stability.
Is CAN bus essential?
No. It is needed when you require data from inside the vehicle; for location, journeys and geofences, a suitable GPS installation may be enough.
